  3. Thats absolute crap!charlie has trained with rovers both nights this week, absolute farce that he was dropped from the leinster squad!

  4. fair point about the amount of glens players and maybe a bit harsh on charlie but fair play steveo you deserve a chance.

  5. if charlie really is injured..then i think it's fair enough that Doran got in

  6. How is it harsh on charlie if he is injured? Thats what the original post says isn't it? Unless you have had a chat with him about it I wouldn't be so quick to scream blue murder...

If you were to look at the league tables and supposing you went by that: Pem, TRR, Glens.
Then he would be next in the pecking order for keeper. Granted it's not as black and white as that but I for one cant wait to see Glenanne beat Ulster and Munster in the Interpro's! ;)

And whats with all the anonymous posts?

  7. Glenanne for the interpro's!!!!!

  8. Come on Gleinster.....

  9. there is no way he would be in there if he was not playing for glenanne.

  10. that last comment is total crap, he s only in because he plays for the glens.i saw him win tournaments for pwhc and the only reason he never got a call up before is because he was never the outright first team keeper there. Stop all this bitterness and negetivity about the squad and how many fromn the glens are on it and get behind the team
    from a pwhc player!

  11. Hahaha, Gleinster! Whoever wrote that please post your name because that is ingenius!Gleinster for the 'pro's!

  12. Well if he is injured how is picked to play in both matches this weekend for trr with no other keeper on the bench just in case this mysterious injury reoccured! I believe in this instance the post is incorrect. The question is- why was he really dropped?

  13. I dont uderstand the Doran selection....Doran is a great keeper but a little past it, he will never be making the Irish squad or close to it! Young Fitzi from Monkstown is having a great season maybe he should of been considered?? also Ross Murrey is in the Ireland development squad surely he's up to it!Walker should play both games...sub keeper should be there cause he's good enough and to gain experience.

  14. hes past it at 25!!!behave yourself

  15. doran is 26...behave YOURself

  16. If Charlie wanted to play for Leinster then he would have turned up to train with them. Noel Keogh made the correct decision on a player who took his place for granted. If Charlie trained with TRR this week then surely he could have attended a Leinster training session the previous Sunday. Charlie has let himself and the squad down, simple as that. On the Doran issue, please just wish the man well. He has played some good matches and some poor matches this year. The inconsistency in his performances are down to his poor defence in front of him. Yes I know two of them are on the Leinster squad, not ideal. Doran is a nice guy so please try not to be personal about his selection.

Where in this article does it say 'Injured'?

  18. On that last comment, my fault there. My initial understanding was Charlie Henderson was injured. Subsequently, I removed that part of the comment as a lot of doubts were raised about that. As a result, I tried to leave the article neutral until I finish work and can find out what exactly has happened. Sorry for the confusion.

  19. Good man Jason, at least one person has done the decent thing and take ownership of their comment.
As for the other comments,I accept full responsibility for been taken out of the squad.
I missed a training session and Noel made the call, end of story.
However to bitch and gripe about who gets in is a little immature. Wise up fellas, hockey is a small world.

  20. Go team Gleinster! Is it true leinster are wearing green this season?

  21. I think Graeme Woods should have been called up. Huge experience and solid as an ox. Younger tham his looks may suggest aswell!
On Charlie's comment;a bit harsh from Noel dont you think? If Butler or the Shaws missed a training session would the same happen...............

  22. Very harsh on Charlie, he has been a huge influence on rovers this year, and his attuide and winning mentality would have been an asset to the leinster side!

  23. Cant believe Fitz hasnt been called in! The lad is a phoniminal athlete and has a drive/work rate that would match anyone! Hes havin another great season like last year where he was probably the main reason town made it to the club championships and still didnt get a look in with the irish development!

Keep going Fitz the town still loves you!

  24. I wouldnt get too carried away with Fitzy! He's probably behind 4 or 5 goalkeepers in Leinster alone.Good keeper all the same, but think you need to use a bit of perspective here! Also, 'town concede alot of goals.

  25. come on steve - where is the preview of this weekends games?!! Also - how come Fingal v Monkstown isn't on the fixture list for tomorrow? How do teams manage to get games postponed like that? (assuming thats what happened!). All the cancelling / postponing of games just makes the league look even more amateur than it is...

    ReplyDelete
  26. game tomorrow is postponed because of the away fixture Cookstown 2's versus Monkstown 2's. Think its fair enough that the leinster branch would want a leinster team to do well in the IJC and if that vital fixture went ahead, a few key players for the 2's would not travel and deplete the squad significantly. Glenanne got a postponment for the same reason two weeks before.

  27. Played with fitzy last yr on the U21's and there was little to no difference between walker and himself, so much they split the games. Think he should have been put in as a back up if charlie isn't there

  28. "Also, 'town concede alot of goals"

Check the table. They have conceded the third least goals behind rovers and pembroke. Not saying they have a better defence than glens by any stretch but it is probably something a lot of people have not realised.

    ReplyDelete
  29. fingal have also conceded less.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Fitzy, Murray and okeefe all should be in there ahead in my opinion

    ReplyDelete
  31. Walker is going to play the 140 minutes, Doran will be there for experience, well done Doran, happy to hear you made it!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. The league should just dismiss clubs asking for cancellations for reasons like that. The seconds are away so you cant field a firsts side?? Doesn't happen in any other sport and is the reason the national league has to happen. Too much of this rubbish in the provincial leagues, especially in leinster.

  33. glad for Doran, wish i put my name on that Gleinster yoke now that it's caught on...Come on Gleinster

  34. eh o'keefe, not even playing at div 1, murray, and fitzty, ......not even close to dorans experience or ability. Stop giving the lad a hard time, he fully deserves that spot and presonally delighted for him...giv the guy the credit he deserves.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thats funny stuff,

How can you claim Murray hasnt the ability Doran has when hes on the Irish Development Squad? This is all too crazy

    ReplyDelete
  36. okay,

Id be the first to think its a bit suss about the amount of glens people on that squad and i think their is a few home descesions that i dont agree with it but doran is not one of them, i played with him and pembroke and the lad has never stopped trying. He was brave to make that move to the glens and he would be the first to hold his hand up and say he hada shakey start to the season but that was always gonas happen.

i dont care what anyone says but i pretty sure hes won every honor in ireland and thats what puts him ahead of the others, his experience and ability, also to say hes past it at 25,26 whatever age he is is crazy, nige henderson is 38 or so and still a top keeper.giv him a break!!

hope leinster do it and do it well, gud luck lads!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Crazy stuff! OKeefe for Leinster

    ReplyDelete
  38. Okay lets clear this up.

I dont think anybody knows this but keepers are meant to peak at 28 which means Doran is only getting started now, keepers like murray and okeefe arent even into their twentys yet which gives them plenty of time to gain experience and get as far as Doran has got.

Secondly, Murray might be close but i have a feeling that the only one leaving the okeefe comments are himself. Murray has been playin 1sts hockey all season but young okeefe has probably played about 3 1sts games ever so how could he be selected for the full leinster side?? just makes no sense.

Now lets stop with all the harshness, doran was given the position because he deserves it, end of story, good luck mate.

  40. Glenanne - current Irish Senior Cup, Leinster Senior League and Cup holders and one of the most consistent teams in Ireland over the last nubmer of years - why wouldn't they have a big representation!
