ualifying competi
tion for the inaugural John Waring tournament.The two finalists from the senior cup qualify as Leinster's representatives. The other cups are not seeded.

In the senior league, St Andrew's and Wesley look set for a playoff in the New Year after the sides drew earlier this term. Andrew's won all their remaining league fixtures while the Ballinteer school looks on course to repeat the feat.
They have league ties with Sutton Park and King's Hospital left.

ReplyDeleteDon't Write off Kilkenny in the Senior Cup. They only lost 3-2 to Wesley in the league in Dublin, and they have them at home for the cup. I predict a Kilkenny Vs. St.Andrews final, with the all ireland champions winning in the end.

ReplyDeleteo id say it was a friendly alright!!! why would wesley train down to cork to play ashton and bandon?? leinster people would moan if they had to travel 15 minutes down the road and u notice the way bandon have won the title for the last 4 years well thats way they get an easier group in the schools! so id say the league does matter!

high school 2 beat kilkenny in the semis and narrowly lose 2 andrews in the final.

ReplyDeleteIve seen the two teams lately and i'm not sure about their chances. The newpark seniors have lost a lot of players this year and aren't as good as they have been for the last few years. Mount Temple have two good players who are playing for the Clontarf team doing well this year but im not sure they have a strong enough team!
ReplyDeleteAnything other than Wesley v St Andrews in all finals would require a major shock.Sutton Park have a tidy U13 team St Killians strong at Minor. St Columbas too. Kilkenny and Mount Temple at Junior. No one going to get near Wesley and Andrews at Senior. High School have some handy players but not enough.
ReplyDeletei dont think wesley will get past kilkenny, after all kilkenny are playing wesley at home, the last time the two played wesley were at home and they just managed to beat kilkenny 3-2.

ReplyDeleteWhile Wesley haven't won an All-Irelands in about 4 years Kikenny still don't have enough match winners. I'm in Wesley and Sutton will win U13 Cup, Wesley Minor and Junior Cup but unfortunately Andrews are looking too good in the Senior. One more thing, Sutton, High school, Mt.Temple and Killenny haven't a hope in the Senior!

ReplyDeleteMount Temple were 1-0 up with 20 mins to go in the match. Should have gone on to win the game. High School were very very lucky....
ReplyDeletekilkenny vs. wesley has to be replayed because finished 2-2AET. 1-1 before extra time.Kilkenny took lead around 10mins into 2nd half and looked as if they were heading through but a few minutes from end wesley equalised. wesley then took lead early in 2nd half of extra time. very tense finish and kilkenny pressure payed off when they equalised with a couple of minutes left.unbelievable, worthy of final. wesley man!
