Mills Cup - Monkstown 3 Fingal 4

Monkstown will wonder how they did not pick up a result after having a mass of chances and possession. Fingal appeared to score with every break they had as Monkstown may rue attacking with too many numbers. Fingal led throughout, taking a 3-1 advantage into the break. Town equalised with about 15 minutes to go before were sucker punched a minute later for the decisive seventh goal of the game. Fingal now travel to Kilkenny for the quarter-final.

Monkstown 3 (Gareth Walkins, Ian Allen, Simon Groves) Fingal 4 (David Bane 2, Glen Shekleton, Paddy Gahon)

  5. How anyone can select a lienster team and not have D Bane in it is beyond me!!!! Also I would have B Parsons in there. It's not always individual performances that make great teams.

On another note, I was at the Monkstown v Fingal game yesterday, crazy game. How Monkstown didn't win is beyond me. Fingal I think have won the last 5 in a row now against the town and they must love playing out there. For all their technical flaws Fingal know how to never give up and battle battle battle.

  8. Same old Monkstown by the sounds of it! Fancy hockey with no end product! Fingal obviously have the edge over them and will look forward to playing them in a few weeks, in a game that will ultimately decide who gets fourth place.
