Judging by the reactions of the players present at the draw last night at the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Loreto got the bum draw of the Leinster sides, having to travel to tournament favourites Pegasus.
Railway will be pleased with their home draw to face the winner of either Ballymoney or Hermes whose match was postponed due to bad weather before Christmas. That tie will now take place in February.
The draw was made by Padraig McManus, Chief Exceutive of ESB, at a ceremony honouring Linda Caulfield and Jill Orbinson's contribution to Irish hockey, following their retirement from the national squad.
