Three Rock win Leinster Senior League

Pembroke 3 (Justin Sherriff, Gordon Elliott, John McInroy) TRR 3 (Gary Ringwood, Maarten Sier, Andy McConnell)

Amid the tension at Serpentine Avenue, Three Rock fought back to claim the Leinster Senior League for the first time since 2002/03 thanks to Andy McConnell's late equaliser.

Rovers took the lead early on when Gary Ringwood opened the scoring from a penalty corner but Pembroke took the lead by the break thanks to former international Justin Sherriff and a superb deflection from John McInroy.
Dutch corner expert, Maarten Sier fired in his last goal in a Rovers' shirt to equalise at 2-2 before Gordon Elliott gave the hosts the lead once again.
But, from an improvised corner with three of the regular corner team off the pitch, Andy McConnell got the equaliser to give Rovers the title with a scooped effort. They endured some nervous moments late on but some great tackles from Pierre Quesnel and Neil Lyons bagged the title.

So, after all the pre/ealry season banter on the site about Pembroke being unbeatable they now effectively have 0 from 3 finals. Teams should always have belief that they can compete against them.

Well done Rovers. I think it's great for the league. Now Rovers have the bragging rights to go with their bragging.
