Ladies branch call off all weekend hockey

Due to the ongoing freezing conditions in Leinster, the ladies branch has made the call to postpone all league fixtures originally scheduled for January 9.

Divisions 3, 4 and 5 as well 7 to 14 will now play this round of matches on March 27. Division 2 and 6's games will now be played on April 17. An alternative date for division one has yet to be finalised.

    It would be typical of the mens branch to leave it until saturday morning to postpone matches.................

    Maybe because they read the weather report and are realistic and proactive.

    I think the mens branch need to make a call on this weekends fixtures asap. Road conditions are set to worsen and people need to know now!!

    I think you can safely take it that all matches are off by having a glance at the weather forecast! However I do agree a general call should be made by the branch as this takes the pressure off individual fixture secs and umpires etc. All other sports seem to have issued postponements en masse. I know the GAA and leinster rugby have cancelled all games under their jurisdiction for this weekend

    Leinster Branch (mens) have just cancelled all fixtures for this weekend and will also consider extending the season due to the current forecast
