Irish U-18 girl's coach Mary Logue has announced her 25-player training panel as preparations begin for the U18 EuroHockey Nations Tournament to be held in Belgium from 7th/12th July 2009.
National champions, Hermes, are well represented with Niamh Atcheler, Chloe Watkins and Gillian Pinder stepping up from the under-16s while Loreto's Hannah Matthews - daughter of Irish rugby international Philip - is one of the team's more experienced players.
Irish schools football international Deirdre Duke is also in the squad along with Corinthian's Ali Meeke and Pembroke's Orla Fox. The squad draws heavily on the Connacht u-16 side from last year that won the province's maiden interpros as well as three players from the immense youth hockey factory in Armagh - including Amy Stewart.
