I dont quite understand the 'In Senior Training Squad but not in consideration for selection at this stage' bit? I read this in the paper aswell, how on earth does this make sense??! Does Passmore just wait for someone to Dribble the whole pitch and score a goal or tackle every member of the opposition before they warrant 'consideration'? So much annoys me about his selection policy, but politics is what makes the world go round.

Not only that, but how can a player of the calibre of Peter Blakeney be consistently overlooked!!??

The Australians, who know a thing or two about hockey!! recognise talent when they see it and he's been selected for the Western Australia ThunderSticks training squad (25 players) after playing for Fremantle Magpies for less than a full season (during the Irish summer)

The ThunderSticks play in the regionalised AHL Series and the final 18 that will compete in Canberra from 25th Feb - 6th Mar will be announced in Jan 2008. They are coached by former Australian great Paul Gaudoin.

Best of luck Blakster!!!

the squad is desperately short on goal-scorers. why isn't blakeney given a chance as the only natural scorer around?
