* Cookstown High School bag their first boys All-Ireland schools title. They beat defending champions Banbridge Academy in the final 4-2.

* Australian legend Ric Charlesworth will head up the coaching side of the annual 'Hooked!' conference to take place on January 5th and 6th.

* Ireland is guaranteed three representatives in the second round of the EHL, as HGC trio John Jermyn, Eugene Magee and Iain Lewers help the Dutch club to victory over Germany's Club an der Alster and a draw with Belgium's Waterloo Ducks.
