Men's Division Two:
Weston 1 (Phil Barron) Dublin University 1 (Sean Flynn)
Weston ground out a point at Griffeen Valley Park against a bouyant Trinity side who enjoyed plenty of possession and territorial advantage but were unable to break down the Lucan side's defences further than Sean Flynn's strike. Phil Barron's drag-flick had given Weston an early lead but Sean Flynn banged in an improvised corner move after a dodgy injection to get the students back on terms. Though they dominated the possession stakes, that was as good as it got for the visitors to leave both sides to settle for a point.
Avoca 8 (Stephen Brownlow 4, Will Aylmer, Jamie Crawford, Martin Naughton, AN Other) Navan 0
Avoca took advantage of Weston's slip to get within striking distance of the top sides in division two with a thumping 8-0 win over Navan at Newpark. They raced into a commanding five goal lead by the break and notched up another three in second half. Stephen Brownlow was once again the tormentor in chief, bagging another four goals to add to his sizable tally.

Yep scored a cracker as well
from looking at all de teams i feel suttonians are de best equipped for de league
i agree, i think they will survive longest in div 1 also...
I think anyone who believes that any of the current top 3 in Div 2 are well equipped with their current lineups is seriously underestimating the difficulty of staying with Div 1 teams week in and week out.
The Sutton, Weston and Avoca squads with no disrespect to the current contingent are not strong enough. None of the clubs have the quality of players needed across all positions. Having 1 or 2 players capable of playing at Div 1 level is not enough.
de???
The is a three letter word! You went to the bother of writing out every other word???????
Lets get real. Neither Suttonians, Weston or Avocas current squads are strong enough to avoid immediate relegation if they get promoted. If we are honest I think all clubs would admit this openly.
Firstly, (whichever of them do go up) if they keep their current squad with no additions they need to improve on fitness, speed of play and improve technically. Clontarf are a far better technical side week in week outand they, unfortuantely are getting stuffed (it doesnt matter who beat who in friendlies)
Secondly the team that does go up will need to improve their squads. They will more than likely be looking to pick up some of the better players from Div 2, as well as scouting around fringe players from current Div1 sides as well as possibly a couple of Div 3 players (if they are frustrated at not getting a 1s place)
Whoever goes up, it is going to be very difficutl. We already know the gulf in quality between div 1 and 2 is huge. Best of luck to them!
