Wesley's boys remain on course for a senior clean-sweep as they completed a perfect series of matches in the Leinster Senior school’s A league, beating St Andrew’s 4-2 last week, following up a comfortable win over Mount Temple a couple of days earlier.
The triumph adds to the school’s U-14 success in the league already this year and adds to the All-Ireland school’s title claimed last autumn.
One trophy, though, that will not be travelling to Ballinteer is the U-13 Cup following an incredible 7-3 win for St Andrew’s in the quarter-finals.
Goals from Andrew Fogarty, David Nolan, Geoff Cole and a Jack Ryan double saw Andrew’s race into a 5-0 half-time lead before Nolan and Ziggy Agnew extended the advantage to seven in the second half before Wesley bravely fought back to score three goals late on.
Mount Temple and reigning champions Sutton Park will join them in the semi-finals and that theme is continued at junior level where the northside pair are joined by Wesley and Andrew’s.
Irish U-16 international David Cole has fired doubles in early wins over Kilkenny and Dundalk to set up a semi-final with Sutton Park while Wesley got the better of John Scottus. They play Temple who were 3-1 victors over King’s Hospital. At minor level, Sutton play St Andrew’s in the quarter-final while Newpark are already into the semi-finals.

any senior cup news?
No matches have been played since the last update to my knowledge. One semi-final will take place on Thursday between Sutton Park and High School
Just to clarify Stephen. The Semi Finals of the Trophy will take place this week. SPS v High School 15.30 Sutton Park. The other Semi is TBC. Mock exams are a hassle for all schools at the moment and coaches are trying to fit many things in at the same time.
The trophy final will take place March 3rd on the same day as the Junior and Under 13 finals.
The semi finals of the Leinster Senior Cup will take place on March 5th. The draw will take place for these after the trophy final. Wesley and Andrews cannot draw each other but home and away is up for grabs.
