Monkstown 9 (Gareth Watkins 5, Zac Dutton 2, Fran Lee, Brian Groves) Kilkenny 3 (Lloyd Pearson, Peter Yeates, Paul Maher)
Monkstown moved into third place with a thumping 9-3 win over Kilkenny at Rathdown. They move a point ahead of Three Rock, albeit with three extra games played, thanks in the main to Gareth Watkins five-star performance.
Zac Dutton added a pair while Fran Lee scored against his hometown club. Kilkenny pulled three back in the second half but had long been out of the game as a contest.
YMCA 1 (Jacob Webber) Fingal 1 (David Bane)
The points shared between Fingal and YMCA at Claremont Road courtesy of Jacob Webber's powerful drag-flick late in the first half. It levelled David Bane's opening effort before a scoreless second half put another little dent into Fingal's IHL hopes for the 2009/10 season.
The point does move them one ahead of Corinthian but the reds have what could be a crucial game in hand for fifth spot and a place in the playoffs for IHL qualification.
