Bray 3 (Nikki Lyons 2, Cathy Brock) Trinity 1 (Maebh Horan)
Bray completed a league double over Trinity to ease any prevailing relegation worries, coming from a goal behind to beat the student’s 3-1.
The Wicklow side began the game the stronger, Jen O’Neill and Stephanie Hall dovetailing well to win two early corners but were stung when Trinity scored from their first set-piece of the day with Maebh Horan scoring from the second phase.
Nikki Lyons, though, levelled matters two minutes before the break, latching onto Cathy Brock’s free in to hammer into the roof of the net.
And they hit the front soon after the turnaround, with Brock slotting in a corner rebound after Cheryl O’Toole’s initial shot. Mary Goode was forced into a couple of sharp saves to maintain the advantage.
The ever-influential Linda O’Neill set up the killer-goal, her sharp run playing in Lyons with another lifted effort. The win all but assures Sarah Scott's Bray of survival in the first ever outing as a division one side, well clear of the bottom pairing who must now duke it out for the relegation and potential play-off positions.
