Old Alex 0 Railway Union 2 (Cathy Kenefick, Jean McDonnell)
In a frantic encounter, Railway Union took a step closer to ensuring All-Ireland league status next season while keeping the pressure on leaders Pembroke. Railway coach Mick McKinnon said he was pleased with the result more than the performance. The result sees Alex drop to eight points off fourth place.
Genesis 0 Loreto 1 (Zara Delaney)
For the second time this season, Guy Garrett’s former club Genesis ran Loreto close losing by just a second half Zara Delaney goal. Loreto stay within two points of Pembroke while Genesis remain bottom despite their impressive performance.
UCD 1 (Christine Quinlan) Trinity 0
UCD overturned their Jacqui Potter cup defeat to their student rivals Trinity last Wednesday with Christine Quinlan scoring the decisive goal to leap-frog both Trinity and Alex into fifth place.
Pembroke 3 (H Maguire, S Collins, S Doyle) Corinthian 1 (A Williams)
Pembroke stay just ahead of the leading pack with their win over Corinthian; staying in pole position for the league title. Corinthian, for their part, remain three clear of Genesis and ahead of Three Rock on goal difference.
Hermes 5 (Nikki Evans 3, Anna O’Flanagan 2) TRL 0
Leading by a single goal at half-time, Hermes made the most of their second half chances to ease past Three Rock at a drenched St Andrews. Hermes may well prove a dark horse in the second half of the season as they only lose Emma Grey with international commitments.
