The Leinster Branch have confirmed that the final round of division one fixtures will be played simultaneously on Sunday, March 21, pushing back the final series of matches by one day.
The Management Committee of the LBIHA states that they “have considered various suggestions and requests concerning the completion of the Leinster Senior Division 1 fixtures and determined:
“It is the decision of the Management Committee that the Leinster Division 1 season shall terminate on week 28 as originally scheduled.
“The matches originally planned for Division 1 on 20 March 2010 will take place simultaneously on 21 March 2010.
“While appreciating the demands on clubs and squads if was felt that to defer or extend the closing date could disadvantage some clubs particularly where the final position secured in the league determines qualification for the IHL.”
The confirmation of this deadline for league completion leaves a number of clubs under pressure to finish their campaigns with Glenanne the most affected, needing to play five games in ten days, while Three Rock have four fixtures to fulfill in that same timeframe.
