While the majority of games originally scheduled for this weekend had been re-fixed, the last two fixtures standing have been called off due to the freezing conditions and snow across Dublin. Clontarf's match against Fingal on Saturday and Glenanne's tie with Railway Union, set for Sunday, are the two victims.
Elsewhere, Three Rock Rovers will compete in the 62nd "Los Reyes" tournament in Barcelona which gets underway on Monday when they play Club de Campo. They follow up on Tuesday against Pedralbes before facing host club Princess RC Polo on Wednesday.
They become the first Irish side to play in the competition, receiving an invite at last year's EHL KO16 in Hamburg.
Also present will be KHC Leuven who include former Rovers Mitch Darling and Phelie Maguire while Irish midfielder Emma Clarke will line out for Leicester in the women's competition.

winter break time?? indoor.....
yep. long over due. lets take an official 2 month break Dec and Jan and concentrate on indoor.
Couldnt agree more - amateur game + weather getting worse each year + too many games for younger players = winter break!

Not looking fwd to the reprucussions of the next week or two - training cancelled, matches being cancelled - scheduling refixes are a nightmare (with the Ladies games anyway).
winter break what a joke - a weekend of games called off - Big Deal - enjoy the break - as for indoor th game has died in holland as per steves interview with the scottish dutchman ! - it has been dead here for the past 10 years
eh 1.02pm, think you're comment is a bit misguided re: indoor. It was dead in Ireland about 10 years, 20 years ago was the heyday, but its been steadily reviving over the last while and has grown quite a bit this year from last.
as for the winter stop, last year there were major fixture problems and there's not much reason to suspect this weekend will not see the same bout of cancellations. i personally detest, having done so for 15 years, playing the pre-christmas outdoor games right up to december 20th and then be asked to play in the first week of a new year. its always bloody cold and miserable and training is a mess. I'd fully back a winter break.
1.02pm - think this weekend's going to be out too, might well become a big deal! only people I know training are using indoor halls!
