Group 1:
Glenanne 4 (Joe Brennan 3, Richie Shaw) Corinthian 3 (Chris Pelow, Dan Williams, Andrew Sutton);
Railway Union 5 (Kenny Carroll 2, Paul O'Brien 2, Kevin O'Brien) Fingal 1 (Paddy Gahan);
Group 2
Pembroke 7 (John McInroy 3, Craig Wilson, Morris Elliott, Paddy Conlon) Trinity 1 (Ben Hewitt);
TRR 9 (Liam Canning 2, Alan Bothwell 2, Graham Dowling 2, Andy McConnell, Peter McConnell, Mitch Darling) Avoca 1 (John Ralph)
Two goals in the final four minutes by Joe Brennan snatched the win for the Glens on their return to Indoor action. They brought in Brendan Parsons from Railway and could be a dark horse for the title, beating last year's finalists.
Elsewhere, Railway overcame the side who eliminated last year, easing past Fingal while Three Rock look a formidable outfit. They include three players who have performed in European indoor tournaments with Avoca - Liam Canning, Ezra Handelman and Graham Dowling - with Canning still looking a class apart in the right back role.
The tournament is providing Pembroke with some match practice ahead of their participation in the European Club Championships in 3 weeks time in Serbia/Montenegro.
Pembroke are arguably placed in the easier of the two groups in Montenegro and should have a good opportunity of progressing to the promotion pool and potentially winning a place in the B Division for this years Leinster Indoor League winners.
With rumours abounding of interest in the indoor game resurfacing in Ulster and the increased competition that would result, the ability of Irish teams to attain and retain B Division status would be further improved.
