UCD claim hockey colours...

UCD won back hockey colours beating Dublin University after a two year gap as they won comprehensively 7 points to Trinity's two at Belfield on Tuesday. In the ladies firsts match, UCD raced into a 4-0 lead before being pegged back to 4-3 but managed to keep the visitors at bay.

In the men's match, UCD scored an incredibly rare win. They came from 1-0 down to win 3-2.

I guess one picture of a dejected Trinity Captain is the same as any other but it would have been nice to have gotten a photo from the actual event!

We just gave them a taste for it too so that when we snatch it back from them next year it'll be all the sweeter.

Loath as I am to say it... Belfield Poly have beaten University of Dublin, Trinity College in this fixture before.

Back in the mid-90's as the Celtic Tiger was taking effect, the Government gave Collidge pots of cash (surprise, surprise) and they bought in players such as David Hanna, Xavi Bou Torrent, Owen Butler... etc

cheers for the updates, i've updated the story accordingly. my initial source had the score much closer and it was suggested that it may have been UCD's first ever men's win in Colours, turns out it was their second.

Its great that the photo was actually taken the week before against Railway!! Same result though. Trinity have a lot to prove over the rest of the season! This could be the worst year for us in over a decade!
