Neville Cup semi-finals:
Corinthian 3 (Chris Pelow 2, Darren Kimfley) YMCA 1 (Simon Mills)
Chris Pelow's double copper-fastened their place in the Neville Cup final as Corinthian got the better of YMCA for the second time this season at Whitechurch Park. The Y had begun in lively fashion but failed to forge an early lead and were rocked on their heals when a bad tackle led to a stroke which Pelow duly converted. Darren Kimfley made it 2-0 on the half-time whistle before Simon Mills made a game of it when he scored from a corner-switch. But Pelow potted a drag-flick to restore the two-goal lead and a place in the St Stephen's Day decider.
Monkstown 4 (Andy Ewington 2, Gareth Watkins, Andrew Ward) Glenanne 9 (Eddie O'Malley 3, Shane O'Donoghue 3, Gary Shaw 2, Brendan Parsons)
Shane O'Donoghue's goal inside 11 seconds set the tone for an incredible tie at Rathdown as Glenanne move within one step of retaining their Neville Cup crown. The lead was doubled by the third minute and from there the Glens galloped to a healthy 6-2 half-time lead. Andy Ewington pulled back a couple of corner goals in the second half but Eddie O'Malley and O'Donoughue both completed hat-tricks while Gary Shaw almost matched that feat but found Dave Fitzgerald in his way on a number of occasions in the closing ten minutes. Graham Shaw returned for a second half run out.

Sharpie played the whole game!
looks like the fox in the box bamboozled the town, again proving his natural goal scoring ability.
Fox was on fire, teams should be double teaming him...
Looking good for the future guys, Shane was great again and Cole was outsatnding for monkstown
is there a match report stephen for weston vs sutton? Was weston at home?
weston were away......BOOOOOOOOOOM
Eddie stop robbing goals from young O'Donoghue. You only scored 2.
could 11 seconds be the fastest goal ever scored in hockey ????
Any match report for the weston sutts game???
No Alan Southern scored a goal in less than 7 seconds in the EHL...so its not the fastest.
Once saw Gijs Weterings score three seconds after a restart for Holland against Pakistan in the 1992 Olympics - he was about 20 metres offside.
The Dutch had brought it back to 4-2 with a minute to go and he didn't bother running back to halfway, a quick overhead, no umpire's whistle and he smashed it in first time. Mad stuff, would love to see the clip on youtube!
match report for Suttonians -V- Weston:
An even first half saw limited apportunities with Reuben Holden and Enda Tucker seeing drag flicks saved by the opposing keepers. Other chances fell to Conor Gillett and 'ponytail man' whose weak efforts didn't trouble the keeper. Alan Browne was always a threat with his trickery and Vikram Singh also caused a lot of problems but no end product.
The second half saw a change in fortunes with Weston playing with the incredibly strong wind. A fortunate goal from Vikram Singh whose miscontrol while running up the endline saw it surprise the Suttonians keeper and squeeze in at the near post. Moments previously to this Richie Wormald saw a 1 on 1 chance saved by the Weston keeper. From here Suttonians were chasing the game but their corners were not working fluently and another couple of good chances went begging. Finally a rash challenge from a Suttonians defender in the D saw a stroke correctly awards which Enda Tucker dispatched.
Deserved victory.
Was just reading the weston v Sutton match report, I noticed that Ruben Holden featured for sutton, On my memory of their previous match he recieved a straight red card, does this not rule him out of the next 2/3 matches?? or is it a matter for the clubs to decide internally?
Yeh heard Eddie robbed a goal from Shane,is there any truth in the rumour about the sneaky fox robbing goals?
If he's not stealing goals, it's chickens he's after.
Damn that pesky fox...
the red card in the IHT match taht Reuben Holden received means that he will serve a one match ban in the next round of the IHT.
All rules relating to this appear on the IHA website.
