IHL Wildcard playoffs:
Lisnagarvey 3 (Timmy Cockram, Johnny Gray, Mark Raphael) Bandon 1 (Rob Smyth)
Lisnagarvey bagged the win they needed to ease into the IHL for a third consecutive year as they picked up their second win in quick succession, beating Bandon 3-1 at Grange Road this afternoon. Timmy Cockram spectacularly dragged home the only goal of the first half before his side doubled the advantage after the break and stayed clear courtesy of club player of the year Johnny Gray and Mark Raphael while Rob Smyth pulled one back for the Munster men.
Bandon now face YMCA on Sunday morning (11.15am, Grange Road) needing to win to earn a maiden tilt at the IHL while YM, by virtue of their slightly better goal difference need just a draw.
Wildcard standings: 1. Lisnagarvey 6pts (+3) 2. YMCA 0pts (-1) 3. Bandon 0pts (-2)
