Pembroke became the first side to make it into the quarter-finals of the Mills Cup as they put Dublin University to the sword tonight at Serpentine Avenue with braces for Mick O'Connor (pictured), Justin Sherriff and Craig Wilson his first goals since returning from his travels. Adam Pritchard also netted his first for the club in a facile win and they will now face the winners of Navan and YMCA, scheduled for December 13.

why cant pembroke play there league games with this team out!? there still probably be top of the league.!?
its a joke that they get cancellations and that the league fixtures are all over the place!!

I am still wandering why Glenns got postponements and YMCA did not, both teams are missing two players due to the WCQ, I know glenns are also missing a coach but it is the players that play matches not coaches. Does anybody know who makes the decisions as to who gets a postponement and what are the basis of the rules applied in the decision making process?
Not a YMCA member.

Findlater not sure who you asked, but the goal scorers are not correct. Scott Furlong netted one from close range.

Navan V YMCA - Tonight on Box Office! Don't think we'll have much hope against pembrok when we "trash" YM though...

in fairness Pembroke are missing 6 first teamers who are representing Ireland. Over half a team. Whether they would win anyway or not is irrelevant. I'd argue that they'd struggle to beat all but the bottom teams without 6 (including ned) players missing.

I think its a different story playing Corinthians Monkstown and TRR then Trinity. Thats why Pembroke got postponements and also the league is far more important then the mills.

To Anon 11:11. Why is it a joke that Pembroke got cancellations. The leinster league position determines your qualification for the AIL and your seeding in this regard. There is also EHL qualification from the AIL so why should they be expected to play without all their players just because other teams may have no internationals.

If all the other teams have ambition surely you would want to beat Pembroke at their best and receive the plaudits for this and not just try to play them when they are missing players.

ive heard murmurings that scott furlong may have scored. a borderline impossiblity but supposedly so

No, i think it's fair. further kudos to them for playing any games while their internationals are away trying to get Ireland into a world cup. It will definitely help with the backlog of games that is developing.
