Code of conduct for underage players

I've had to delete a couple of comments pertaining to potential 'poaching' of underage players. The comments themselves may have been deemed libellous and so have not been posted.

The comments related to the movement of Under-18 players between clubs on both the men’s and women’s side.

The IHA, in its Code of Conduct (it can be downloaded from this site) – which is binding for every person involved in Under-18 hockey – states in its Guidelines for Sports Leaders, in the section ‘A Positive Environment’:

“when approached to take on or taking on a new player, ensure that the relationship with the previous club/coach has been ended in a professional manner.”

Should you have any issue in this regard, contact your club’s children’s officer.
