Eurosport to broadcast EHL: News in brief

* Eurosport 2 will broadcast a number of this weekend's EHL ties including Glenanne's vital fixture with Grunwald Poznan on Saturday at 11.30am and Pembroke's match with Rotterdam on Sunday at 1.30pm. A highlights package will be shown on Tuesday night. All the game from this weekend will be streamed live on www.ehlhockey.tv.

* The IHA will run a Youth Leaders Workshop in St Columba’s College from 9am to 12.30pm to help give young people the ideas and tools to further their involvement in the sport. The workshop covers coaching, team management and umpiring with Mick McKinnon (Railway Union 1st team coach), Sally-Ann Fanagan (Ireland ladies manager) and Kris Cholewa (international umpire) involved. The workshops are open to anyone aged 15 to 21. For more information, contact Leinster RDO Lucas Piccioli on 01 716 3266 or email lucas.piccioli@hockey.ie.

* Look out for school’s hockey updates and pictures in the Evening Herald. The paper has been running Leinster schoolboy and girl articles for the last three Thursdays and looks set to continue throughout the school year. To help compile information each week, if you have any info email me at Stevie_findlats@yahoo.com, especially with Wednesday and Thursday fixtures so we can feature a few teams. The articles are available online while today’s newspaper version features a couple of Adrian Boehm’s pics.

* With the governance review process on-going, the IHA will hold a roadshow on Tuesday night (October 13) in the Montrose Hotel at 7.30pm. The event comes in advance of an IHA EGM on November 8 to provide information on proposed re-structuring ahead of that meeting in which clubs will be asked to vote.

I know it says that it's showing a load of hockey on Eurosport 2 on their website...http://tv.eurosport.com/tvhome.shtml but I think that's only if ur based in central European countries.

I've checked the Sky planner & it's a load of Twenty20 this afternoon, when Eurosport 2 is supposed to airing hockey.

I did find two bits of Hockey in the Sky planner though for Eurosport 2...Sun 9.30am (live) & Monday 7.45pm (coverage - probably a round-up).

Also - the EHL website is very good but for those planning on tuning in to watch Pembroke & Glenanne, just note that the times on the website are in CET, so take an hour off it before settling in with ur popcorn...

Good point about the CET...

...trying to access live streaming of Reading v Montrouge but it's not working!! Could be the firewall, anyone online?

Let me know how you get on with the streaming - I'm sitting next to the guys responsible for it and they need to know if there are any glitches!

Meanwhile, check out the Hook's livetrackers - updates on Glen's match already up and running - http://glenannevsuhc.blogspot.com/

The streaming is currently rubbish...stops every few seconds for loading...hope they sort it out for Irish games.

Clicked onto LiveStream and the "Loading" icon appears but the percentage isn't increasing at all... again it could be my Firewall that's the problem here.
