Working on it, also I notice the alignment of this clip is a little off. Will fix this later.

I haven't seen them all yet but there were a few comments about the EHL videos mainly focussing on people's shoes!

Pembroke looked really sharp even against HC Rotterdam..

If losing 6 -1 is looking really sharp, I'd hate to see what the score would be if they weren't !!!!

How can a team look really sharp and get beaten 6-1?? I've heard it all.

Pembroke actually did 'play well' against UHC but but lets face it, when your outclassed your outclassed. They would probably have won any Irish game the way they played and got away with the usual mistakes but UHC didn't let them away with even one!

Plus the good teams all attacked down the left hand side and there was loads of reverse stick crosses into the circle which just doesn't happen that often in Irish hockey and so exceptionally hard to defend against.

I cant wait to find out who wins the IHL this year so I can join their club for a good EHL trip. I hope its a Dublin side..

Don't forget Irish Senior Cup also gets you into EHL, as it currently stands!

Great trip!! The glens are mighty supporters..Was great to see Pembroke supporting Glenanne and vice versa...we were even wearing each others colours and jerseys...

Have to say it didnt take long for the comments about them losing 6-1 to appear and it not being good enough. This is typical of people whose heads are in the clouds about where Irish hockey is at. We arent that good, we havent got the players, the money or the support to compete. What Pembroke did and Glenanne was as good as it gets. It was a tremendous effort. To put it in context. Lisnagarvey had won 7 Irish Cups in a row in the 1990's and were by far the best team in Ireland. They fielded 10 FULL internationals ( when caps were hard to come by ) and got beaten 6-0 by Terassa in Europe. It was the best I have ever ever seen them play.
Thise people prepared to have a snipe at Irish club teams being beaten in Europe by top top side, grow up and get things into perspective

With the way the new rules work, big scores are going to be even more prevailent, goals can occur in a blink of an eye so don't think its worth getting too het up about Pembroke's loss to Rotterdam.

Incidentally, heard Taeke Taekema is on about 200,000euro at Amsterdam so what odds Rob van den horst is on a six figure salary too? think that would be close to the entire turnover of Pembroke or Glenanne!

Well said.. Pembroke conceded easy goals in the scorching sun in barca and conceded 2 soft ones in the last five minutes when they were buckled. but they never gave up for one minute- many pembroke players stood up to the challenge including A McConnell, Lewis etc and showed they can man for man match the Rotterdam players. Rotterdam upped their game immensely vs their performance v Kelburne and they knew they were in a game. unlike rotterdam pembroke couldn sub off key players and bring on jsut as good players to fill the spots. Well done to Glenanne Pembroke and Ireland as a whole.

I think it just goes to show the huge difference between the top European clubs and top Irish club sides. Pembroke & Glenanne are without doubt currently the best club sides that Ireland can offer.

I think thats what depresses me the most. We are busting our b**ls to try to be better, training harder, etc etc and yet we are so far off its untrue. I know both teams couldnt have done anymore to try to compete. Also remember that Pembroke are the team that beat the great northern hopes Cookstown 6-0 in our showpiece cup final last year. If this is how our very very best competed just imagine what would have happened to the group below that !!!!!

The All-Ireland league must happen soon.

Our top teams need to be playing highly competitive and physically intense games week in week out to even start competing against the top European sides.

Whilst I admit a bigger IHL has to happen soon if we are to step up our standards, realistically who can afford it at the moment? nine away trips in a year? very expensive, especially for a mid-table side, do we have enough clubs who can afford this to make it worthwhile?
