Suttonians aim to unsettle Badgers

The unpredictable but evenly matched nature of division two was shown in full effect last Saturday with the upshot that no club has a perfect record in tact despite only five games between the teams.

Suttonians lead the way on four points and face the Navan Badgers for the second time this term.

The latter welcome back Simon McKeever and Steven Hardy to a fixture which has been pushed back to 2pm at the Badger’s new set in King’s Hospital having previously used Sutton Park. Suttonians have injury concerns over midfielders Conor Gillett and Reuben Holden (pictured, left) in the wake of the Trinity win.

Also in West Dublin, Weston face Avoca for the second week running aiming to overturn the result seven day’s previously. Home wins and away losses have been the routine in the first two series of fixtures. Can Mark Cullen’s Avoca buck the trend at Griffeen? Dublin Uni, meanwhile, make the trip to Bray to face the only side yet to register a point.

Leinster Men’s Division Two fixtures (Saturday
Bray v Dublin University, 1pm, Loreto, Bray (C Deane, T Doyle); Navan v Suttonians, 2pm, King’s Hosptial (B George, D Mac Nally); Weston v Avoca, 1.45pm, Griffeen Valley Park (J Connolly, G Walsh)

"Badger's new set". Brilliant - nice to see the nickname catching on. Hope we get as good a game as a fortnight ago - with points going to Navan, of course.

I have been working with navan HC for the past 3 months and yes we are different, thanks for the vote of confidence. we are navan re structured and we are enjoying the way we play. differnet yes, i believe so nothing to compare with but we are not going to be bottom table that's for certain. SMCG
