Glenanne

Last Season: 2nd; IHL runners-up, Mills Cup semi-finals, ISC semis

Coach: Arul Anthoni (2nd season)
Captain: Joe Brennan

Players In: Mick McGuinness (Fingal), Filip Jaros (Monkstown), Robbie Hanna (Bray), Gareth Carragher (Weston)
Players Out: Alan Browne (Weston), Daryl Carey (YMCA)

Summary: Early season has not lent itself to ideal preparation for the EHL with just competitive games against Suttonians and UCD to test their mettle given the postponement of the Pembroke tie on October 3 – they play a friendly on October 6 instead.

The back-log of fixtures will also provide a nuisance factor but the Glens will still be formidable proposition with Filip Jaros, when fully fit, a more than decent replacement for Alan Browne. Mick McGuinness adds to the forward options while Gareth Carragher and Robbie Hanna supply goalkeeper cover.

First three games: UCD (a); Pembroke (date TBC); Corinthian (date TBC)
Prediction: 2nd
IHL Prediction: Semi-finals at least

Just a few correction on this one Stephen.

Gareth Carragher has been in Glenanne for the last season or so playing 3rd's and then 2nd's and I think he came from YMCA / 'The German school' originally. Has come on immensely in the last year and is a very focused young lad.

Daryl Carey has gone back to his original club Weston, however he was never in the 1st team squad afaik, usually a 2nd's/3rd's player.

Enda Tucker was a regular in the 1st team squad and has also gone back to Weston.

Dominic Cunningham, 2nd's team player and also played in the Neville cup final last year left the club to go work in Dubai for a few years.

All great lads and will be missed.
