Railway Union 5 (Ken Carroll, Ted Lynch, David Holmes, Mark English, Eoin McArthur) UCD 2 (Karl Smith, Rob Lynch)
Railway picked up a crucial win at Park Avenue to leave UCD in real trouble at the bottom of division one.
The students started reasonably well, taking the lead through Karl Smith while Railway were fortunate to draw level on the half-time whistle as they were given a second chance from a penalty corner which Kenny Carroll reversed into the goal from a rebound.
They used that momentum to take the lead through Teddy Lynch - his first since returning to the fold after his honeymoon. David Holmes extended the advantage before Mark English got the pick of the goals. Former Corinthian Rob Lynch pulled one back from the flick spot but Eoin McArthur completed a fine second half performance.

rob lynch got the first with a drag and karl smith got the second from the spot.
A fantastic performance by Railway who can now put themselves in a great position by beating Fingal next week.
its an important win for railway don't be getting ahead of yourselves beating fingal will be a lot more difficult than a win against UCD
fingals league position flatters them. they scraped past ucd. think they could be in for a rude awakening this weekend even with that pitch of theirs
how does fingals position flatter them, they are in fourth place and they finished in the top 4 or 5 for the past few years. railway will be doing well to get something out of the game, thats not saying that they wont though
non-fingal player
i agree fingal are a very good side, deserved 4th place, previous statement should be taken off.
non fingal
its great to see the Railway boys getting carried away with things after they beat a team that is in last position. it will be a long time before railway are able to compete with Fingal. maybe if it was indoor they would have a chance!
I doubt you're a non-fingal player!!Cumon the Union!
terrible result for ucd.
Railway to win 3-2 agaisnt Fingal on Sat.
GO ON THE RAILERS!!
fingal will find it very tough against railway
