YMCA 1 (Jacob Webber) Glenanne 4 (Richie Shaw, Gary Shaw, Stephen Butler, Shane O'Donoghue)
Glenanne moved into back the top three thanks to a strong second half performance after YM had taken an early lead through Jacob Webber. The Glens levelled by half-time and then pulled clear with three second half goals to stay within a couple of points of new leaders Three Rock.
Pembroke Wanderers 10 (Alan Sothern 4, Michael O'Connor 2, Gordon Elliott, Conor Harte, Alan Giles, Florian Richter) Kilkenny 1 (Tom Manning)
Pembroke notched up the biggest win of the season with a comprehensive hammering of the Cats at Serpentine Avenue. Alan Sothern leads the way in the goal-scoring stakes thanks to his four on the day while Kilkenny will hope they can turn their form around as they face a crunch match against UCD next Saturday. 30 goals have already been conceded this term in seven games, a worrying sign.
Monkstown 2 (Gareth Watkins, Alan Lewis) Corinthian 1 (John McInroy)
The Town have gained a valuable buffer of five points in the race for an IHL place as they beat sixth-placed Corinthian by the odd goal in three. Watkins opened the scoring after creating space himself to fire in a reverse before Alan Lewis made it 2-0 with a deflection. John McInroy levelled with a slightly deflected effort with about 10 minutes remaining but they could not create enough chances to pick up a point.
The top of the table now has a lot more familiar look as Three Rock Rovers won a decent game in ALSAA. Goals from Peter Blakeney with a reverse to open the scoring and Patrick Shanahan sealed the win to leap-frog Fingal who now occupy a three-way tie for second place with Glenanne and Pembroke but lie fourth on goal-difference.

Are any matches going to be postponed next week due to Inter Pro's/International matches???
As far as I know, Pembroke against Corinthian has been moved to December 9. Not sure of the reason as yet but could be due to interpros.

Looks like it might just be Kilkenny Vs UCD in Div 1 this weekend.
Looking forward from this weekend, how do teams in the irish hockey league propose to play matches on their home pitches when they do not have the required 5 metre ring outside of the D that all attacking free hits must be taken outside of. A massive oversight on the part of the IHA in my opinion. Stephen maybe you could do some investigative reporting on this matter? As I believe teams may have a huge case here to have matches refixed to new locations.
big game of the weekend is in div 2..sutts v clontarf
On the IHL issue mentioned two comments above, this was discussed at the umpires meeting prior to the tournament and is at the discretion of the umpire to control.
While I may not be an absolute authority on this, Pembroke, UCD and only a couple others grounds in Leinster would then be available for use in this tournament.
The costs incurred of renting other grounds and losing revenue and promotion of your club would make it very difficult for the IHL to fulfill its purposes for clubs and the IHA.
Where the free is taken is an issue controllable by umpires and so I don't think one which should cause a huge amount of trouble.
You may think you it will not case a huge amount of trouble but I do recall TRR had a goal against them disallowed due to an infringement on the 5 metre ring in the EHL. An issue that some teams might deem quite serious if it was to arise in an IHL fixture.
The situation commented on above only arose due to the Video Umpire Appeal feature within EHL.
As there is no such feature available within IHL this is a moot point as satisfaction regarding where the free is taken from still rests with the Umpire.
Does'nt sound like much of a crisis it woul'nt be much hassle to paint one on pitches that don't have these lines.
Think about it. Not playing under the IHL rules the umpire stil had to decide from where the 'everybody 5 yards' rule came into effect. So he still had to judge where the dotted line would be.
Things would only change if the IHL wanted to bring in video technology. Can't see that happening in the near future
can some one please confirm whether or not all of those matches mentioned above are called off or not?!
have people all forgot that it's meant to be 5 metres, not 5 yards?!?!?!
infamous quote from an umpire:
player "he's not 5!!"
umpire "as sure he's 4.9, thats grand"
hahahha, champion!
