Three Rock Rovers 3 (Kyle Good, Lucas Piccioli, Garry Ringwood) Monkstown 1 (Francis Lee)
Three Rock moved back into pole position in division one with a 3-1 win over Monkstown this evening, taking the opportunity to use their squad as Neil Lyons, Ali Haughton, Phelie Maguire, Charlie Henderson, Andy McConnell, Mitch Darling and Peter Blakeney were all out.
Leinster U-18 Kyle Good opened the scoring after Lucas Piccioli slip pass, following a burst through two tackles for a 1-0 half-time lead. The Venezualan was credited with the second from Michael Maguire's crash ball.
Maguire's sin-binning, though, saw the Town get back into the game, Franny Lee scrambling under Wendel Armstrong - one of Rovers' key men on the night, snuffing out the danger of a Gareth Watkins one-on-one.
But Garry Ringwood's stroke ended the contest, coming after Peter McConnell was adjudged to have been body-checked as he went for a corner rebound. Rovers' front pair of Patrick Shanahan and Good were impressive in place of more established names while Franny Lee was the class act for the Town.

Hey Stevo, second 3RR goal was scored by the gringo Piccioli
Sorry, got two reports from the ground that Ferran scored. Anybody able to provide the definitive answer?
Terrible result for a Monkstown team who see themselves as contenders for top 4.Rovers had half a team!!Just shows the gulf that noe exists...
supposedly rovers coach was delighted with the performance as rovers haven't performed to their capabilities in recent weeks. should be interesting to see what he does when he has the players missing back at his disposal!
ye was piccioli im pretty sure.
mhc player
it was Piccioli, unstoppable tonight...
our stroke was somewhat dodgy...
thats for sure.
Token Peter McConnell dive was it?
our stroke was somewhat dodgy...thats for sure. Monkstown in disguise!
stroke was a definate stroke its in the rules. he was taken out of it at the top of the d while in the process of strikeing the ball. stonewall stroke. monkstown did not deserve to win this game, well done to rovers, they may have been missing half of there so called better players but they still were the better team
first off he wasnt "strikeing" or striking the ball. trr player lost control of his flick then took the charge off the first runner. cant see how it was a stroke.
Whether it was or wasn't a stroke is irrelevant as the better teanm on the night won. Monkstown were lucky that TRR had players missing as not one of the Monkstown players had a good game and it could have been an even more emphatic win for TRR. In fact because of TRR missing players Monkstown could have had an undeserved win if they had forwards capable of scoring goals. In the first half they had more chances than TRR and should have been a couple up by half time. However if they were playing poorly in the first half they played even worse in the second half and got what they desrved.
how can you say the better team won on the night and then say monkstown were the better team in the 1st half. Monkstown were by far the better team in the 1st half and should have been 2 or 3 up. TRR like true champions came out in the 2nd half and were the better team. It very easily could have gone either way. Rovers took their chances Town didn't
That's an incredible result! Monkstown should be ashamed, is there a case for clubs 2nds being in the 1st division? This result certainly suggests it could be a viable possibility.
CHC 2nd XI Player
Great result for trr, well done.
that rovers side is a top 3 side even without the heaveys. monkstown r a decent side probably should have done better. by the way good decision(stroke) by bolger, player was taken out of it. case closed.
