Holders Old Alex crashed out of the IJC as they were beaten at St Andrews in a 5 goal thriller. There was better news, though, for Leinster sides Hermes, Railway, Our Lady's, Suttonians, Bray, Pembroke, Loreto and Clontarf who have all made it through to the last 16.
In the men's draw, holders Pembroke kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 win over Lisnagarvey.
