Reigning Loreto Beaufort will defend their Leinster league crown next Friday after beating St Andrew's 1-0 in yesterday's semi-finals. They will play Muckross Park, who beat Wesley 2-0.
Hermes' Irish under 18 international Anna O'Flanagan was central to everything Muckross put together. She opened the scoring after 10 minutes, getting on the end of a swift counterattack and set up the second seven minutes later. It came after her short corner strike was blocked, Ruth Dunne turned home the rebound.
The second semi-final was a tighter affair. It looked set for extra-time when Zara Delany, another under-18 international, deflected home a free from just outside the circle with five minutes to go.
