Pembroke followed up their narrow ISC win with a scrappy draw against Fingal at ALSAA.
Alan Sothern backed up his injury time winner in the cup with a reverse stick shot yesterday but his goal was cancelled out by Chris Neville's equaliser five minutes from time. It came from a vehemently disputed short corner.
It leaves Rovers in top spot when the two sides face off next weekend while Fingal are ahead of Monkstown in fourth spot on goal difference.

The "vehemently disputed short corner" was given as a wide first. Then on consultation; a penalty stroke, which appeared to be the correct decision. Finally they met in the middle on a short corner. :)
Stephen, do you know if teams finished on equal points are decided by games won or goal diff?
Past history would suggest that it's done on a playoff. Bottom place (9th/10th) was decided on a playoff between Avoca and Trinity a few years back to decide who went into the promotion/relegation playoff.
I think top of the table is also decided in the same way so i assume that sets the precedent but will try and find out tonight.
1st and 2nd position go to a play off match if on equal points. positions 3rd to 8th if on equal points go to games won, which is why Monkstown will stay ahead of Fingal if they finish on the same points as monkstown currently have 10 wins to fingals 9.
Is there a good reason why it's games won and not goal diff like every other sports league?
Monkstown will have lost more games than Fingal as well as having won more, don't see how it's a fair differential.
It means teams wont settle for draws and go for it more. I think it is a good idea. Its the same in the Champions league in football.
