Ireland won for the second time this weekend against France in their final match before the OQT which begins on April 26.
Ireland were again on top for the most part but the visiting French showed much more endeavour this time out. They won the first penalty corner in the 20th minute, which went just past Louisa Healy’s post.
Ciara O’Brien’s got the opening goal in the 33rd minute from a short corner before Alex Speers - fed initially by Julia O'Halloran - doubled the lead early in the second half.
Amy Stewart scored a rebound on her 50th cap for the third before Belfast Harlequin Jenny McDonough's superb run down the end line was lobbed over the keeper.
Speaking after the game was Coach Muller “We did not play with much rhythm today but we managed to score some good goals.”
“France were good opponents for us at this stage, they were battling matches and ideal for us.”
