Irish Hockey Trophy results

Skerries produced the result of the round for Leinster sides as they beat Belfast Harlequins at Deramore to advance to the second round of the Irish Hockey Trophy competition on a day as five Leinster sides dropped at the first hurdle.

Clontarf endured a tough day on Ulster's east coast, losing 6-0 to Kilkeel while Dublin Uni fell to Armagh.

The Leinster women fared much better with only Weston bowing out. Genesis beat Banbridge, Three Rock defeated Catriona Carey's Kilkenny 4-0 and Clontarf won in Galway.

kilkeel must be a very strong team to have beaten a good clontarf team 6-0. i hope the rest of the leinster teams do well in the next round as it was surprising that none of them got a bye to the 2nd round

Dont know why my comment was removed i was only responding to narrow mindedness of some people, looking forward to saturdays match against Sutton i think this year is the most open the league has ever being.

Dont know why mine was removed either. Great weekend for us beating Harlequinns, just a pity we have to travel up the north for the next round too. Anyway, back to the league and this weekend, looking forward to what should be a very close match
