Men's Division One: YMCA 3 UCD 1

YMCA 3 (Richie Miles 2, David Robinson) UCD 1 (Robbie McFarlane)

The four-week hiatus for YMCA has worked well to their advantage as they handed debuts to Paddy Good and Graham O'Neill while also including Andy Walker and David Robinson for the first time this season.

They opened well with a dominant first 15 minutes, Richie Miles getting the last YM stick on the ball in a goalmouth scramble. UCD got back on terms, Rob Lynch capitalising on a defensive slip to crash in a cross for Robbie McFarlane to score a spectacular deflection.

Robinson put YM back in front in the first minute of the second half with a drag-flick before Will Powderly was yellow-carded for a physical challenge. UCD could not capitalise, though, only drawing an excellent double save from Iain Walker with McFarlane and Ronan Motyer denied.

YM looked more dangerous going forward with Miles getting the third from a scrappy corner switch to end a lively game of decent quality. Both sides look a lot better than last season, making for a much more competitive league this term. Karl Smith (pictured) and Rob Lynch made their UCD league debuts, too.

Any more pics from this game?

I was also at last nights game and don't think it was so much a question of fitness as a question of fatigue. Don't forget it was UCD's 7th game in 9 days while YM had had several weeks off.

As for pics, not really. Light out there is not very conducive to pics of the non-blurry type with the camera I'm using at the moment. Will see if I can do a little editing and see what I come up with.

Think YM played well but thier lacking someone up front who looks like he will score... Maybe they might have to bring up a youth player!!

Well they played with Robinson and Richie Miles up front, and they scored. So how does that comment make any sense??!

Why is robbo playing up front? He is a midfielder!!! and one of the best ones in YM, doesn't make sense.
