Men's Division Two: Week Four results

Skerries 4 (Ali McMahon 3, Ronan Gannon) Suttonians 3 (Mukhtar Ahmed 2, Darrell Reamsbottom)
Skerries sit atop the division two table after a seven-goal cracker with Suttonians on Saturday. The visitors built up a 3-1 lead thanks to Mukhtar Ahmed's double and Darrell Reamsbottom's goal before Skerries launched an impressive comeback.

They levelled the game up at 3-3 with Ronan Gannon getting the second before Ali McMahon got his second of the game. Sutton's cause was not helped by Mukhtar's sin-binning before McMahon completed his hat-trick to grab victory. Suttonians probably had the best of the play in the first half while Skerries finished the stronger with Ali McMahon scoring his seventh goal in two league games.

Bray 3 (Stephen Jones 2, James Hardiman) Naas 0
Bray continued their good start to the season and have emerged, along with Clontarf and Skerries, to be one of the main contenders for the title. Former Railway player Stephen Jones' double was a major factor while Australian James Hardiman was also on target.

Clontarf 4 (Rob Abbott 2, John Lennon, Tom Noonan) Dublin Uni 1 (Barry Glavey)
An excellent weekend for Clontarf as they beat the two universities in two days. They began with a comfortable 4-1 win over Trinity who have picked up just win so far this term and could already be too far back to mount a title challenge.

Rob Abbott netted a double while John Lennon and Tom Noonan got the others.

Weston 3 (P Barron, Dean Maguire, Mark Benzies) Navan 2 (Eamon Lynskey, D Ferris)
Weston picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Navan. It moves them into a three-way tie for fifth place in the table while Navan still search for their first win of the season.

Excellent game lads well done roll on next week against NICS, Ally imagine how many you would score if you came down to training every now and again. Im only one behind maybe you should try passing to me for a change.

Fairly interested in Bryan there judging from your other post on week 2 results!!
He scored 2 last week in the cup against Harlequinns, but no league goals yet. Came close against Sutton with a drag but keeper made a good save

That was a good result for Naas against Bray on sat, they were a bit light on numbers and tough they would of leaked a few more. Clontarf had 2 good wins this weekend and weston got off the mark. Still think Weston and Navan or better teams than their points tally show. Any more info on the games played, did the scores reflect the match?????

navan are just not up to it at this level - they have moved up too quickly imo - they could barly compete with club 4th & 3rd teams never mind this level.

I know we need new clubs to progress and with navans large population they could be a force in a number of years - but they should be competing in the league that best suits their skills now - which should be no higher that Div 5

Navan's latest result vs Skerries proves they CAN compete at this level. Injuries and absences have hurt them this season, a summer of other teams I won't mention trying to poach players didn't help either! New coach Sinead Dooley has brought them greatly and their amazing youth commitment is producing dividends in young Mckeever. Navan show huge commitment to train and play all their matches in Dublin and while they meay no be fully realising their potential, the disdain they are treated with by some clubs is unwarranted and unfair.
