Men's Division Two: Avoca 8 Navan 0

Avoca 8 (Scott Wilkie 2, Karl Chapple 2, Stephen Day 2, Carl Breaden, Enda Gallanagh) Navan 0

Avoca completed the regular division two season with an 8-0 win over Naas at Newpark to finish the league in a tie for third place with Skerries. There were doubles for Scott Wilkie, Karl Chapple and Stephen Day.
In the final reckoning, Avoca finished just two points off the play-off position and will look to two dropped points against Naas a month ago when they drew 0-0 as a vital factor. Navan finish the season in eighth place in the table with nine points.

Harsh result for Navan - who finish on 9 points by the way. Some suspect decisions, particularly after a cynical foul by an Avoca player but ultimately they weren't helped by indiscipline and disorganisation. Good season for the Badgers though who'll be back next season, hopefully with even more improvement on the table.

Good Game- played in good spirits. Fair play to Navan as they kept the game going to a good tempo, probably deserved a goal or 2 aswell.

Sorry, just to add my apologies for initially stating the game was against Naas. I have amended the story accordingly.

yeah from what i saw last night that avoca team will be a very powerful force next season, good bunch of young, athletic skillful players.
result was harsh but for navan but they did start with 9 players on the pitch...

Avoca tend to start every season quite poorly and it could ultimately cost them again next year. pre season might need cranking up! a lot of teams will strengthen next year - far too early to call who'll win the league.

yeah, will be really interesting to see how squads bolster to prepare for next season, the likes of navan and naas will need to strenghten to cope with the rest of the teams in the division.
