Ladies Division 3/4 Cup Final
Pembroke Wanderers III 4 (Fiona Keenan 2, Claire Picard, Kate Hurley) Suttonians 0
Pembroke II ended Suttonians reign as division 3/4 cup holders in style as they ran up an impressive 4-0 victory at Grange Road last Saturday afternoon.
Captain Fiona Keenan led the charge with two fine goals and a great performance, but the scoreline was slightly flattering, following a tight affair for much of proceedings.
Lisa O’Rourke between the Pembroke posts made several key saves when a Suttonians fight back looked on the cards, with Pembroke were lucky to get to the break 1-0 up – a calmly taken tap in from Claire Picard – following several waves of attack from the girls in pink and black.
Following the break Pembroke though stepped it up a gear, with Keenan scoring the second before a determined Kate Hurley latched onto a rebound to make it 3-0. Keenan capped the afternoon to rubber-stamp the issue with the final goal and return the title to Serpentine Avenue.
