Glenanne 5 (Paula Fitzpatrick 2; Rebecca O'Reilly; Kate O'Connor; Ciara Nugent)
Railway Union 1 (Louise McDermott)
Glenanne continued their brilliant recent run with the club’s third trophy in two weeks and sees their women continue their impressive season, still with an outside chance for the division 2 title.
The Glens opened the scoring with their first circle penetration, a well taken chance by Paula Fitzpatrick. Railway had a number of opportunities to equalise including three short corners, but a strong defense marshalled by Ali Geoffroy kept Glenanne's sheet clean.
And the Tallaght side doubled their lead in the 18th minute from a superb opportunistic goal taken again by Fitzpatrick whose excellent reflexes provided a two nil half time lead.
3-0 came in the 44th minute with Ciara Nugent on the end of an excellent penalty corner before a great pass by Captain Audrey McCormack in the 56th minute found its way to Rebecca O'Reilly for Glenanne's fourth goal of the day.
Substitute Kate O'Connor completed the Glens scoring before Railway got a consolation goal in the 70th minute courtesy of Captain Louise McDermott.
