Stephen Butler's hat-trick and all round performance was instrumental in Glenanne retaining the Mills Cup. His two drag-flicks in the opening 15 minutes gave the Glens the initiative they never relinquished with Butler going close to a hat-trick only to be denied by David Harte's dive.
Craig Wilson pulled one back somewhat against the run of play after a high quality move out of defence via Paddys Good and Conlon before half-time but the two goal advantage was restored after the break when Gary Shaw knocked in a reverse.
John McInroy, though, was not willing to let the game die just there - first off he reacted quickest to a rebound off former teammate Stephen Doran and then firing in a superb first-time shot from a cross from the right.
Butler was sin-binned soon after for upending the South African but was to prove the game-breaker on his return to the pitch; a third drag-flick giving the perfect tonic for the Europeans next weekend.
