Pembroke advance to IJC final

Pembroke are looking to make it two-in-a-row as they made it to the the Irish Junior Cup final for the second year running, bringing their unbeaten run to 51 games. It was, however, their first draw in that series. They opened the game brightly against Banbridge with two chances falling to Dougie Good but were unable to capitalise.

Good, though, did give the 'broke the lead in the second period, firing in from the top of D after an assist from Patrick Good. Banbridge got back on terms, forcing extra time, after a penalty corner was not cleared to safety.

Eventually, going to strokes, Stephen O'Keefe was the hero with two excellent saves as Pembroke got through 4-2 and continue their amazing run. They will face Annadale in Belfield on March 29. They play in the Railway cup quarters this weekend while they have won all their league games thus far.

On the women's side, it will be an all-Leinster final as Glenanne made it to the club's fourth All-Ireland final in six years. They beat Pembroke seconds comfortably in St Marks 3-0. They will face Sandymount side, Railway seconds. They beat the last remaining Ulster side, Randalstown, 3-1 with Jenny Kenefick and Ros Lynch scoring the goals.

Great work PWHC II, congrats, flying Leinster's flag high !! ( and I hear Dougie was suffering with flu or something, far play for him playing though it).

Good luck in the final, I'll be there.

Dunno, I dunno it might of gone because of the large number of games. Wasn't a bad cup though.

I see that 51 match unbeaten run finally came to an end last weekend...

Corinthian II making a last minute dash for the title, although Pembroke II have plenty of games in hand

can't see beyond pembroke to repeat their clean sweep. We beat them on Sat but it could have been the kick up the ass they needed to spur them on for the rest of the season. They're a great side and a good bunch of lads
