Glenanne got their European Campaign of to a dissapointing start with a 2 goal loss to Ukrainian Champions Kolos Sekvoia today in Montrouge, Paris.
Artem Ozerskyi got Kolos off to the perfect start with a dragflicked goal in the fourth minute after a poor opening ten minutes from the Tallaght side.
The score remained the same until half-time despite chances at both ends, the Ukranians making good use of the space afforded to them on the counter-attack while Johnny Goulding went close from a Graham Shaw pass.
Eddie O'Malley got the equaliser straight after the interval after a superb run from Richard Shaw but after a period of pressure they were behind again when Volodymyr Budak finishde off a rebound.
Sekvoia took advantage soon after to extend their lead, Ozerskyi sending home a dragflick and Youryi Moroz putting the game beyond doubt with a rebound from a Stephen Doran save.
Jonathan Kane gave his side a brief glimpse of hope with a second phase short corner strike but with time running out there was no chance of a comeback.
Glens must now win their next two games to remain in with a chance of making the final on Sunday.
