Monkstown were twice pegged back by UCD, drawing 2-2 at one stage before pulling away late on in a gritty, rather than pretty win for the Town. Gareth watkins opened the scoring before Glenn Holmes restored parity. Simon Groves and Neil Young then exchanged goals before Monkstown pulled away. Groves and Watkins both got on the score sheet again along with Alan Lewis.
