Women's Division One: Hermes 0 Loreto 0

Hermes 0 Loreto 0

Last season's club championships finalists served up a lively scorless draw at St Andrew's this afternoon, though the point earned ultimately means both sides lose ground in their pursuit of front-runners Railway Union.

Both Louisa Healy and Emma Grey were made to work hard for the clean-sheets but were not to be beaten. Loreto are now within two points of Railway but with an extra game played while Hermes are seven points off the pace and will need to outdo their efforts of the second half of last season if they are to retain the Leinster title.

Yep, must agree that it was an excellent game of hockey (the keeping was brill. on both sides).Loreto lookin pretty sharp around the field whilst the Hemes youth starting to 'blend nicely' with the more experienced players.Best ladies match I've seen for a while

There's been a couple of crackers in recent weeks, Railway Randalstown and Railway Loreto to name a few...

yes by far the best ladies hockey of the season, loreto on paper better side and orla bell doing a good job there but the young 'kids' in Hermes mixed with old heads like Jenny Burke etc was a joy to watch - well done Bacchus. Young kids with nerves of steal against the internationals .. good for Irish Hockey.

Yep, fair play Bacchus those youngones are getting better with every match. Can see now why the guys rated you so highly.

Loreto looked extremely good! Thought Symmonds, Healy and Keegan were the stand out players. To be fair to Hermes to they contributed alot to a superb game. Linda Caulfield is still an outstanding hockey player!

Hermes 'contributed alot' to a good game...eh...was it not a draw? Surely if Hermes hadn't contributed so much, Loreto might have managed a goal! Very condescending comment there

i agree with the last comment.surely if loreto were 'extremely good' then they would have won the game. hermes must have been 'extremely good' or even better in order to hold this team to a draw.

I wasn't having a go at Hermes at all. Loreto played lovely flowing hockey while Hermes were a little more dis jointed in their play however their was very little between the teams as reflected in the scoreline. Was trying to compliment both teams on a great game of hockey, people shouldn't be so quick to jump at other people comments.

You can play extremely and not always win while you can play moderaterly and hold a team to a draw who may have played better than you on the day! Yes?No?
